The Youth Exchange «F.A.K.E. – Finding Alternative Kommunication Etiquettes», which took place between the 20th and 28th of February 2023 in Pärnu, Estonia brought together 34 young people from Estonia, Poland, Italy, Malta, Greece and the Netherlands to exchange their ideas, knowledge, experiences on the topic of social media and digital safety.

«Participating in the Erasmus+ project in Estonia on Social Media and Fake News was an enriching and valuable experience for our Greek team. The project consisted of various workshops, discussions, and activities aimed at exploring the impact of social media on spreading fake news, its consequences, and ways to prevent it. The project allowed us to gain a deeper understanding of the importance of media literacy, critical thinking, and responsible online behavior.

One of the highlights of the project was the opportunity to interact and collaborate with participants from different countries, cultures, and backgrounds. It was a great learning experience to discuss and exchange ideas with people who had different perspectives and experiences. We found that this diversity of opinions and cultures enriched our understanding of the topic, as well as opened our minds to new ways of thinking and problem-solving.

During the project, we also had the chance to apply what we learned through various group activities and case studies. These activities enabled us to put into practice the knowledge and skills we acquired, which helped us to better understand the challenges of dealing with fake news in the real world. Through these activities, we developed our ability to identify fake news and evaluate its credibility by using a variety of fact-checking tools and strategies.

Overall, this Erasmus+ project was a significant learning journey for us, and we came away with a deeper understanding of the impact of social media and fake news on society. We believe that this project has equipped us with valuable skills and knowledge that we can use in our future endeavors, both personally and professionally. We are grateful for the opportunity to participate in this project and for the friendships and connections we made during our time in Estonia.»
